Lego Serious Play

During today's session, I used LEGO constructions as metaphors for given concepts.  We were divided into teams and built towers to create structures which represented important team elements.
The structures were then ordered spatially in order to define a successful team.
Concepts used within the team structure were: (in no partucular order)

Viaualisation and creation of concept
Honesty
Goal
Driving force
Achievement
Productions
End product

Before today's session, although I have played with LEGO many, many times, I had never used it in this way.  I can see how this can be used as a tool within industry to help describe key ideas in a non-paper format.

Wiki-media assignment part II

Tuesday 15th November 2011

Our group completed the wiki assignment today and during reading week, we contacted each other and researched further into Mike Walsh's text, 'FUTURETAINMENT'.

I had started a Prezi and I invited the other group members to use the 'edit together' function within Prezi during reading week.  Between us all, we completed the presentation and added the following link to the wiki:

http://prezi.com/xfmn6zp8flcy/futuretainment/

During the planning stages of the wiki when the initial brief was set,  we each selected two chapters from Mike Walsh's book to research and we created threads using wetpaint.  I continued to update my threads and made a point of reading each other team member's threads.  I added comments and questions and found that other people were doing the same to threads I had created.

I sourced a few videos from the internet which I thought were relevant to 'AVATAR' and 'REVOLUTION' - Two of my chosen topics of research.  It was disappointing not being able to present the Prezi to the rest of the class after spending so much time on it, but hopefully people will chose to link from here or the wiki itself.

As I stated in my first blog relating to this excercise.  Although it may have seemed quite laborious at times, the end result was a success and each individual's input formed a part of the final product, which was the intended outcome.

"I saw a film today, oh boy"

I am gutted that I have only just discovered this.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p00kqz5p

I watched the Ridley Scott film only about a week ago and had no idea that the BBC were doing one.

There's been loads I could have documented too.  Aaaargh!  The time is now 21:11.

I still have until midnight...

Hmmmmm?
